Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a highly organized Project Assistant to support SCADA Engineering and Testing/Commissioning for a utility client in Akron, OH. You will coordinate with engineering teams, manage documentation, and ensure project milestones are met.

Ideal candidates have strong Excel skills, experience in a fast-paced technical setting, and Power BI familiarity. Relevant utility/engineering project experience is a plus and US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Strong admin and project coordination experience in fast-paced environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
• Power BI experience is a significant advantage.
• Legal work authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support SCADA Engineering and Testing/Commissioning activities from planning through completion.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Verify project scope, work orders, change tickets, and RTU outage requests before testing and commissioning.
• Track project progress and communicate updates to internal teams and clients.
• Attend weekly project meetings and provide status updates.
• Verify SCADA configurations and EMS uploads before field work.
• Coordinate testing assignments with EMS testing teams.
• Maintain accurate project status updates within SCADABase.
• Update project tracking fields including SCORES and Engineering Support.
• Schedule field technicians and coordinate project logistics.
• Request and coordinate site access for field personnel.
• Assist technicians with project documentation and reporting.
• Create, edit, review, and track Technician Project Reports.
• Verify project report accuracy and maintain tracking spreadsheets.
• Perform additional project support duties as assigned.
