The Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County is seeking an experienced SCADA/Instrumentation Technician to install, maintain, and repair process measurement and control systems at treatment plants and pumping stations.
The ideal candidate has an Associates/Technical degree in electronics or related field, knowledge of electrical power distribution, instrumentation, and the ability to read drawings and schematics. A valid North Carolina driver's license is required.

A person in this position performs intermediate technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of process measurements and control systems, electrical/electronic control and power distribution systems, continuous emissions monitoring systems, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and other systems required for operation of treatment plants, pumping stations, and related facilities, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the SCADA/Instrumentation Supervisor.
This position requires a thorough knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, power distribution, and instrumentation systems; thorough knowledge of water and wastewater treatment process, operation of Pure Oxygen Plant; general knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions required in the work; general knowledge of tools, equipment, automation, and materials needed to perform effectively in electrical and electronic tasks; thorough knowledge of methods, practices, and procedures in electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair work; ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and schematics; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms; ability to diagnose improper operation of equipment or devices and to take proper corrective or remedial action; ability to complete records and reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, engineers, regulatory agency representatives, and associates.
