Job summary
Knobelsdorff (KE) in Minnesota is seeking a student/early-career engineer to support automation software design and commissioning on industrial projects. You will design SCADA/HMI applications, develop templates and visualization standards, and participate in system architecture, FAT/SAT, and startup activities.
The role requires pursuing an Electrical/Automation Engineering degree and willingness to travel for commissioning and customer support. Comp range and growth opportunities are offered.
Qualifications
- Ability to work in Eagan, MN location 5 days/week.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of industrial networking and communication protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel for commissioning, startup, and customer support activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing SCADA and HMI applications for industrial automation projects.
- Develop reusable graphics, templates, faceplates, and visualization standards.
- Participate in system architecture, software design, and functional reviews.
- Perform FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot software, communication, and control system issues during startup and operation.
- Follow development standards, documentation practices, and quality procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to software standards, engineering tools, and project execution.
