Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking a Full Stack Application Developer to support development and deployment of enhancements and new applications. You will work with local, networked, cloud-based, or internet-related programs, communicating technically to non-technical stakeholders from our Cleveland HQ.

This role requires collaboration with project teams, business analysts, and end-users to ensure timely delivery and quality of software.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or at least 3 years of experience in application development.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development, specifically in application development engineering.
  • Familiarity in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or Ruby.
  • Experience in software development tools such as Git or Jenkins.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Validate system requirements and assist with the development of detailed software programming specifications.
  • Write, review, and optimize code and collaborate with the senior engineers using current programming languages.
  • Collaborate with the team to create documentation and procedures for the installation and maintenance of software.
  • Engage stakeholders to address project concerns and ensure expectations are considered throughout the development process.
  • Participate in ongoing learning, attend relevant workshops or training, and share emerging technologies with the team.

Job Description

The Full Stack Application Developer will be responsible for supporting the broader process of developing and deploying enhancements and/or new applications used in local, networked, cloud-based or internet-related computer programs. They will use their experience in programming languages, tools, and delivery models, in conjunction with their methodology expertise to collaborate with various stakeholders and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products and solutions. This role requires a developing understanding of programming languages, tools, and delivery models, as well as the ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. The incumbent will work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including project teams, business analysts, and end-users, to ensure the development process is running smoothly. Ultimately, the incumbent will contribute to ensuring the organization's software applications are effective, efficient, and provide a seamless experience for the end-users.

This position is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Cleveland Headquarters office.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employmentwithout now or in the future requiring sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or in lieu of a degree, at least 3 years of experience in application development or application engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in software development, specifically in application development engineering
  • Familiarity in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or Ruby
  • Experience in software development tools such as Git or Jenkins
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specific knowledge/experience: Ignition 8.1 / Perspective Python, Java, JavaScript, C / C++, SQL, and MQTT protocol. A working knowledge of JIRA is a plus but not required. As part of a team, this position will be working closely within the IT team as well as Engineering.
  • Database knowledge: Oracle, SQL Server, ADX, Snowflake, Redis, PostGres
  • Reporting tools: Tableau, Seeq, Grafana
