Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is seeking a SCADA Engineer in Austin, Texas, on-site, to own SCADA systems across renewable energy and battery storage projects. You will program SEL/RTAC relays, manage substation automation, and coordinate PLC logic for utility-scale assets.

The role offers a clear path to senior technical leadership. You will work across controls, software and power systems from early design through commissioning, engaging with operations to ensure reliable infrastructure

SCADA Engineer (Renewable Energy / Battery Storage)

Are you a SCADA Engineer looking for a technically hands‑on role where you own systems end to end, working with an established, rapidly growing company that offers structured career progression?

This is an excellent opportunity to take technical ownership of complex renewable energy and battery storage systems, working across controls, software, and power systems from early design through commissioning. You will operate close to the technology, engage directly with systems operations, and influence how the infrastructure is delivered as the organization continues to scale.

In this role, you will lead the technical development and maintenance of SCADA systems for the control and operation of renewable energy generation facilities. You will develop and maintain substation RTU configurations using SEL Real-Time Automation Controllers (RTACs), maintain programmable logic control (PLC) systems, and manage the communications interfaces required to operate solar, wind, and battery storage. This role combines hands‑on engineering with system leadership in a highly technical environment.

The Person:

• Professional experience programming SEL systems, RTACs, and substation automation through SEL relays

• Develop, maintain, and support the communications and reliability of site MET towers and data loggers
• Provide off‑hour support for emergencies and major system events affecting the capability to run generation assets
• Support project engineering in the preparation and evaluation of technical design drawings, specifications, technical requirements, and operational specifications for project and product-related items.
