Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group in the United States is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, configure, and support SCADA, RTU, HMI, and automation systems for substation projects. You will develop architectures, wiring diagrams, and system integration docs while coordinating with protection engineers to integrate relay data into SCADA systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in SCADA, automation, controls, or industrial systems.
• Experience with RTU configuration and substation automation projects.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings.
• Knowledge of SCADA protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, IEC-61850.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and support SCADA, RTU, HMI, and automation systems for substations.
• Develop SCADA architecture, I/O lists, and system integration docs.
• Configure RTUs, data concentrators, and networking equipment.
• Create wiring diagrams, control schematics, and network layouts.
• Coordinate with Protection & Controls engineers to integrate relay data into SCADA.
• Support protocols like DNP3, Modbus, IEC-61850, and Ethernet networks.
• Perform FAT, SAT, and commissioning support and site tests.
• Engage with clients and vendors to define system requirements and resolve issues.
• Assist with equipment specs, procurement packages, and technical evaluations.
• Participate in site visits and startup activities; ensure deliverables meet Nexus standards.
