Job summary

Engtal is seeking a controls engineer to own the SCADA layer using Ignition, building from scratch and integrating PLCs across sites. You’ll develop HMIs, dashboards, alarms, and scalable data structures, connecting Rockwell and Siemens PLCs within live project environments.

Ideal candidates will have strong PLC integration, industrial data flow understanding, and experience in projects or system integration, with comfort for remote work and occasional site travel.

If you’re the kind of controls engineer who enjoys building the layer above the PLC, pulling data together, designing clean SCADA systems, and seeing it all come to life across full projects, this one’s worth a look.

This company is a specialist systems integrator delivering automation and SCADA projects across sectors like oil & gas, manufacturing, and data centres. They handle full project delivery from design through to commissioning, working on everything from new site builds to upgrades and multi-site rollouts.

You’d be joining a small, technical team supporting live projects, working closely with other engineers and clients, and taking ownership of the SCADA layer using Ignition.

What you’ll be doing

• Building and configuring SCADA systems using Ignition (Vision and/or Perspective).
• Developing HMIs, dashboards, alarms, and plant-wide data structures.
• Connecting PLCs and field systems into SCADA environments (Rockwell, Siemens etc.).
• Supporting full project lifecycle from build through to commissioning.

What you’ll need
