Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a skilled SCA Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join the Flight Operations team at Ellsworth AFB, SD. You will perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on aircraft ground support equipment, review records, and follow complex drawings and manuals to keep equipment operational.

The role requires a High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of related experience, willingness to travel up to 10% and relocate after training, and the ability to obtain the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Willing to travel for initial training which will take 12 weeks minimum prior to relocating to permanent location.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and related program access.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an SCA Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our team of qualified individuals within our Flight Operations organization. This position will be located at Ellsworth AFB, SD. Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.

Key Responsibilities

Performs scheduled maintenance and in-depth repair as required on aircraft ground support equipment. Reviews maintenance records of periodic maintenance to ensure equipment is fully operational in support of daily equipment requirements. Uses an assortment of basic hand tools in addition to precision measuring devices. Works from complex written instructions such as formal test specifications, blueprints, drawings, schematics, and manuals. May instruct lower-level mechanics in technical aspects of Ground Support equipment work. Exercises appropriate safety measures. Provides on-the-job training to customer personnel per customers’ needs.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED with minimum 4 years of related experience in civilian or military aviation support equipment Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time Must be willing to travel for training to various locations for initial training which will take 12 weeks minimum prior to relocating to the permanent location Must be able and willing to work on an aircraft flightline year-round, across all three shifts and weekend duty Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company

Preferred Qualifications

USAF or equivalent experience as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic #ICS #ASMT #MPR #Blue

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $43.37 - $43.37 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
