Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a Workforce Consultant to serve in the Employment Services division within the SC Works system. You will perform customer-focused case management, guide career planning, and help jobseekers and employers access DEW programs across SC Works Centers.

The role requires travel to Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties and may involve evening or weekend work. A bachelor’s degree or four years of related experience is required, with additional credentials in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to counseling, human services, or similar preferred.
• Alternatively, a high school diploma with four+ years of client-centered case management or related experience.
• Experience in career development, job search assistance, or employment services is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and assist in developing Individualized Employment Plans.
• Provide career counseling, work search activities, and skill advancement information.
• Assist with ES programs like Wagner-Peyser, TAA, MSFW, and Veterans Services Program.
• Greet customers, perform initial assessments, and refer them to appropriate programs.
• Provide workforce services operated by DEW in SC Works Centers.
• Support Resource Room duties and client services for jobseekers and employers.
• Refer work-ready clients to Business Consultants and run applicant searches.
