Job summary

Walden Security is actively recruiting highly professional, experienced law enforcement officers for the Court Security Officer (CSO) position in Washington, DC. Candidates must have 3 years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer.

CSOs will provide armed security for court facilities, enforcing federal law and ensuring safety. A valid driver’s license, DOJ clearance, and academy certification are required. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalent, all within the last seven (7) years, with general arrest authority.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control: enforce entry and identification system and screen for weapons and prohibited items.
• Perform roving patrol: patrol facilities and grounds per post orders.
• Perform stationary post assignments: monitor CCTV, duress alarms and security equipment.
• Perform escort duties: provide armed escort services for officials and designated individuals.
• Direct traffic and control lights on properties as described in post orders and procedures.
• Enforce federal law while performing duties, detain unauthorized individuals attempting to access government property or court proceedings.
• Prepare reports regarding contract performance issues such as labor hours worked, accidents, or incidents.

Job description

Walden Security is recruiting highly professional, prior law enforcement officers for the Court Security Officer (CSO) position. Applicants must have 3 years of verifiable experience with a recognized law enforcement agency. CSOs will provide armed security in Washington, DC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control: Enforce the District’s entry and identification system, operating security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items and checking items such as handbags, briefcases, computers, packages, baby carriages, wheelchairs, etc.
• Perform roving patrol: Patrol facilities and grounds of the facility in accordance with applicable post orders.
• Perform stationary post assignments: Stand guard at stationary posts which include monitoring closed‑circuit television, duress alarm systems and other security equipment.
• Perform escort duties: Provide armed escort services for officials, personnel, and other designated individuals.
• Perform garage parking and pedestrian control: Direct traffic and control lights on properties as described in the post orders and/or standard operating procedures.
• Enforce law and order: Enforce federal law while in the performance of assigned duties, including detaining any person attempting to gain unauthorized access to Government property or a court proceeding, or attempting to commit acts that imperil the safety and security of Government employees, property, and the public.
• Prepare reports and records: Prepare reports regarding contract performance issues such as labor hours worked, accidents, fire, bomb threats, unusual incidents, or unlawful acts that occurred within the court facility area.

Requirements

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; at least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalent, all within the last seven (7) years, with general arrest authority.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license from state of residency and a safe driving record for the past five years; clearance from the Department of Justice; completion of or graduation from a certified federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy with proof of certification.
• Other Qualifications: At least 21 years of age; ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Physical Demands: Meet medical standards specified by the client; accommodate reasonable modifications for individuals with disabilities.
• Training: Requires additional specialized training.
