Job summary

The Medical Assistant will work in the Orthopedics department in the Dodson Medical Office Building, Fort Worth, assisting in ambulatory patient care under the supervision of physicians or APPs.

In this first shift position, the MA will perform clinical duties per established policies, with emphasis on customer relations and a nursing process-based care plan in the ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care as directed by providers and other licensed clinical personnel.
• Perform clinical duties per established departmental policies and procedures, based on the nursing process.
• Support good customer relations in the ambulatory care setting.

Summary

Assists in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care as directed by provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Skillfully and consistently performs clinical duties per established departmental policies and procedures. The care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the ambulatory care setting with an emphasis on good customer relations.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma required.
• Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification required.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

• Current BLS Certification required.
• National certification preferred.
