Job summary

Fehrer Automotive North America in Duncan, SC is seeking a forklift operator to load and unload trucks, move pallets, and stage materials to keep production running.

Job Location: Duncan, SC 29334 Position Type: Full Time



SUMMARY:

Operate a forklift in order to load and unload trucks as well as to shelf/store material. Position will keep production running by supplying packaging and material as needed.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform daily inspections on forklift equipment to ensure equipment is operating correctly.

  • Report any equipment/property damage when identified to correct personnel.

  • Supply packaging area with packaging material for continuous run, if packaging is not available please notify correct personnel.

  • Responsible for maintaining outside area (ex. Stacking empty pallets neatly).

  • Maintaining 5s inside and outside of the warehouse.

  • Must be able to unload, load, pull orders, and cycle count incoming and outgoing material or dunnage.

  • Must remove finished product from production floor and/or stage product or load truck.

  • All employees will be required to cross train in other positions so we can use job rotation to improve our processes and avoid repetitive motion injuries.

  • Conduct audits and assessments to identify potential areas of risk and develop mitigation strategies. Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the warehouse function. This would include: IATF, ISO, and TISAX.

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Encourage safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers.

  • Additional duties as needed and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Forklift operating knowledge( Must be forklift certified)

  • Basic math and reading skills

  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Employee must have working knowledge of manufacturing warehouse environment. Must have a High School Diploma/GED, with an ability to read and interpret work instructions/general production information written and communicated in English.



LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instruction and basic directions., along with the ability to speak in front of a group of people.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.



REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


Basic problem solving skills, ability to define and solve problems.

Job requires operator to get on and off of forklift frequently



WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal amount of sitting and standing, above average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.


Will have interaction with quality, process and maintenance personnel.


Works as a team with fellow employees on the production floor.


Must be able to work in unconditioned environment that is HOT in the summer and COLD in the winter for up to 8 hours a day (and overtime as needed)
