Job summary

Guardian Angels is seeking caregivers to provide compassionate support that helps clients stay safe, comfortable, independent, and engaged in daily life. You will perform personal care tasks and assist with everyday activities for local clients in the Portsmouth, NH area.

The role emphasizes respectful, understanding workplaces and opportunities for training, advancement, and flexible scheduling to support work-life balance in a community-focused caregiving team.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and respectful caregiving mindset.
• Prior caregiving experience preferred.
• Ability to perform personal care tasks with sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and safety.
• Provide light housekeeping, laundry, meal planning, and errands as needed.
• Offer companionship through activities, reading, and social engagement.
• Support clients with memory care and chronic conditions as required.

Personal Care

Assist clients with:

• Bathing and showering
• Grooming, oral care, hair care, and shaving
• Skin and foot care
• Dressing and TED stockings
• Toileting and continence care
• Mobility, transfers, ambulation, and Hoyer lifts
• Exercise and range-of-motion activities
• Vital signs and other tracking procedures
• Medication reminders

Homemaker Services

Help clients maintain a comfortable home by providing:

• Light housekeeping
• Laundry and linen care
• Meal planning and preparation
• Grocery shopping
• Transportation and companionship for appointments and activities

Companionship

Build meaningful relationships and help clients stay socially and mentally engaged through:

• Games, cards, puzzles, and crafts
• Reading and reminiscing
• Watching movies
• Helping with letters and correspondence
• Community outings and activities
• Visits with friends, neighbors, and community groups
• Basic pet care

Specialized Care

We also provide support for clients who need:

• Alzheimer's and dementia care
• Diabetic care
• Parkinson's disease care
• Cancer care
• Post-operative care
• Respite care
• End-of-life care
