Celtic Bank is seeking an SBA Loan Specialist in Salt Lake City to join the Special Assets Division. The role focuses on preparing SBA guaranty packages, reviewing loan documentation, and driving successful guaranty recoveries on defaulted loans through effective cross-team collaboration.

The ideal candidate has loan experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship.

Responsibilities

• Gather, review, and analyze loan documentation necessary for SBA packages.
• Prepare SBA packages including: Universal Purchase Package; Care and Preservation of Collateral Tabs; Charge off Tabs; Liquidation Deadline requests.
• Prepare Wrap Up reports, memos, and justifications for certain loan actions.
• Review completed SBA packages by other team members for quality control.
• Prepare responses to SBA questions related to submitted requests.
• Correspond and work with third party resources to gather effective data, such as attorneys, appraisers, and site inspectors.
• Other Small Business Administration related tasks, as assigned.
• Other tasks and projects as assigned, including, but not limited to: Mail processing and distribution; Form 172 completion and remission of post-default recovery payments; Bankruptcy correspondence and related tasks; Liquidation activity; Vendor payment processing; Monthly/Quarterly report generation and presentation.

Are you an organized, analytical professional with loan experience and a desire to grow your skills in small business lending? Celtic Bank’s Special Assets Division is growing and looking for an SBA Loan Specialist to join the team. This position serves the Small Business Administration commercial loan portfolio and is primarily responsible for preparing Guaranty repurchase requests consistent with SBA procedures for requesting and honoring the SBA’s loan Guaranty program. The role requires effective communication with internal Bank teams to prepare, analyze, and successfully recover a Guaranty from the SBA on defaulted loans. Documentation gathering and analysis is a major function of this position, and the ideal candidate will bring strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. The following list provides a detailed description of tasks you may experience in this role:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
