Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Boston is seeking a procurement support role to assist with equipment and supply chain coordination on a project. You will work with the SourceBlue team to review packages and ensure alignment with drawings and specifications.

The role involves tracking issues from clients and stakeholders, preparing scope documents, and supporting submittal reviews, vendor prequalification, and project closeout activities.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related field, or at least 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with equipment and procurement package reviews for compliance with drawings and specs.
  • Track and document product issues from clients and stakeholders; escalate as needed.
  • Prepare scope of work documents, coordinate matrices, and bid responses for vendor packages.
  • Support review of submittals and shop drawings for contract conformity.
  • Visit project sites to observe product quality and placement.
  • Assist with vendor prequalification and closeout documentation.

The salary range for this position is estimated to be 75,000.00 - 88,000.00USD annualized.

Position Description:

Assist with equipment and product procurement and/or supply chain services for assigned projects in coordination with SourceBlue team.

  • Assist with reviews of equipment and procurement packages for compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Track and document product related issues from clients, Owner’s Representatives, designers, consultants, General Contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors and Escalate to appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with preparation of scope of work documents, coordinate matrices, and bid response forms for vendor bid packages.
  • Assist with Support reviews of project submittals and shop drawings to provide misaligned findings to contract specifications.
  • Visit project sites to observe quality and placement of products.
  • Visit manufacturers’ factories to observe Factory Witness Tests and learn about product development, and specifications.
  • Assist with Supply Chain heat mapping, vendor database, resiliency systems, equipment tracking, and other duties to support development of business products and services.
  • Perform data entry to update and maintain master procurement data (e.g., pricing, contracts, delivery schedules).
  • Follow standardized processes for development and maintenance of project documentation (e.g., equipment tracking log, project budget reports, cost reports, Requests for Information (RFI) documents, change order and close out logs).
  • Assist with reviews of change orders including preparation of independent analysis, estimates for vendor requests, approvals, and conflict resolutions, and submit to SourceBlue Manager for approval.
  • Assist with vendor prequalification process as requested.
  • Participate in closeout process and assist with preparation of final records for projects (e.g., Requests for Information (RFIs), closeout records, warranties, as-builts, spare parts, Operations & Maintenance product manuals (O&Ms), inventory) and evaluate information to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • In pursuit of college or university degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree) from accredited degree program in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or other related degree program or related field, or minimum of 2 years or experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Supply Chain experience and/or internship/co-op experience in construction industry preferred
  • General knowledge of Supply Chain operations and construction products (e.g., Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical), desired
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail, ability to document and manage accurate and timely information
  • Efficient use of work hours with ability to ask questions, request prioritization of responsibilities, and complete tasks in timely manner
  • Passionate and willing to learn about overall company, business operations, culture, and core values
  • Proactive and eager to tackle new projects and ideas, flexible and adaptable to work assignment
  • Able to work independently with management oversight, and in team environment
  • Apply active listening skills with professional and clear verbal and written communication
  • Limited travel as needed

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
