GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Relief Operator will learn multiple operator functions within the sawmill to provide relief for breaks and vacations.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
- Complete routine cleanup and inspections of equipment in mill.
- Know the sizes of rough and finished lumber.
- Required to learn multiple operator functions within the sawmill to provide relief for breaks and vacations.
- Perform daily quality checks.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations and utilizing safety equipment.
- Must be willing to learn various operator jobs within the mill.

- Willing to work any shift including weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
- Commitment to safety.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to learn and adapt to change.
- Ability to adhere to all safety policies and regulations including wearing safety equipment.
- Ability to work in noisy envirnoment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to work from elevated positions using required safety gear and procedures.
- Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for extended periods of time.
- Able to work in a variety of environmental conditions.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS Preferred Experience
- Driving and operating a mobile equipment such as front end loader, skid steer or forklift within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience working in lumber or wood products industry and/or manufacturing.
- Experience troubleshooting equipment.
- Sawmill experience preferred.
