The position reports to the Sawmill Production Manager and emphasizes safety and efficiency in a sawmill environment. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lock out/Tag out trained.
• Must be SAFETY minded while working in a production environment.
• Lifting and physical activity is required for this position, must be able to move boards and wood pieces.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working at all times.
• Maintain feed chain conveyors to prevent boards from becoming crossed up or jammed to allow the line to run continually throughout the shift.
• Handling boards by flipping, inspecting, and sorting lumber.
• Make sure chains and guards are in place to help make the work area as safe as possible.
• Keep work area clear of wood and debris.
