Northern Hardwoods is hiring full-time General Laborers to join their team in Atlantic Mine, Michigan. The role involves hands-on, physical work in a modern hardwood sawmill, stacking and handling lumber, and learning the operation while growing responsibilities and pay.

The ideal candidate will be 18+, reliable, and able to stand long hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and follow strict safety practices. Training is provided; strong detail orientation and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older and reliable transportation is required.
• Willingness to be trained and assist other production areas.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to check lumber thickness, stack, sort and assemble packs.
• Ability to operate a forklift and saws, or willingness to be trained.
• Practice safe work practices and wear protective equipment at all times.
• You are energetic, reliable and work well individually and as a team member.
• You work well under time constraints and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Stack and handle quality lumber in a state‑of‑the‑art hardwood sawmill.
• Learn operation details and grow into greater responsibility and higher pay.
• Operate forklift and saws or train to operate them safely.
• Maintain a safe, efficient work environment and meet production goals.
