Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods Inc. is hiring a General Laborer in Dorchester, WI for 1st and 2nd shifts. You will work in a wood products environment, handling, sorting, and stacking lumber by size and grade, and ensuring smooth flow of production.

Candidates must be safety conscious, have good attendance, and be able to lift 50+ pounds. High school or GED required. Pre-employment drug screen and background check apply; a team-oriented, fast-paced attitude helps you succeed at this global hardwood lumber

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and follow safety rules.
  • Handle, sort, and stack lumber by dimension, species, and grade.
  • Safely maintain flow of the product.
  • Use hand tools and wheelbarrows to clean up debris.
  • Operate mobile equipment.
  • Make quick decisions with coordination of hands, eyes, and feet.
  • Cross-train in other positions.

Shift: 1st & 2nd Shift

General Responsibilities
  • Work safely - know, understand, and follow NWH safety rules
  • Handling, sorting, and stacking sanded lumber by dimension, species and grade.
  • Safely maintain flow of the product.
  • Utilize hand tools / wheel barrows cleaning up sawmill debris.
  • Operate mobile equipment.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly utilizing hand eye hand foot coordination.
  • Cross training in other positions.
Qualifications

  • Must have excellent attendance
  • High school or GED equivalent.
