Job summary

Collins-Pine Company in Lakeview, Oregon is seeking a General Laborer for our sawmill. You will learn the basic components of either the green or dry end, perform cleanup, and operate selected equipment as assigned.

This entry-level role emphasizes safety and on-site attendance, with the opportunity to rotate through multiple mill positions and bid into open jobs as they arise. You will gain hands-on experience supporting the production team and building skills for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
• Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools preferred.
• Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety standards at all times and report hazards.
• Act as a floater to learn multiple positions daily in the mill.
• Learn and perform operator roles and startup/shutdown procedures for equipment.
• Sweep and shovel debris, wood pieces, broken boards, and sawdust.
• Lift, flip, pull, and push lumber.
• Operate a full wheelbarrow to clean and haul waste materials and blow dust from floor and equipment.
• Maintain waste systems by clearing clogs.
• Use hand and power tools to break up materials for removal.
• Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
• On-site attendance is essential to perform duties.
