Job summary

Canfor in Camden, SC is seeking a Forklift Operator to transport materials and lumber within our sawmill. This permanent, full-time role works Monday through Friday, contributing to production flow and on-time deliveries.

The position requires trained and qualified operator status, strong safety focus, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment while coordinating with the mill team.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of forklift experience, preferably in a sawmill or industrial setting.
• Must be trained and qualified operator per OSHA regulations.
• Physically able to work in a demanding environment, lifting heavy objects and standing long hours.
• Strong attention to detail for safe material placement.
• Good communication and teamwork with production staff.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform daily forklift inspections to maintain good working order.
• Plan and organize lumber to be loaded during shift.
• Load tilt-hoist (infeed) with designated lumber and track loads.
• Keep the work area clean during and after shift.
• Collaborate with production staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist other mill operations as needed.
