Job summary

ZIP-O-LOG MILLS, INC. in Eugene, OR seeks an production worker to pull and sort lumber on green, sort, or clear chain. You will ensure proper loading, stacking, and labeling, while maintaining safety and teamwork within the production department.

Qualifications

• Must understand fundamentals of sawmilling.
• Communicate with co-workers and supervisor.
• Work to promote a supportive teamwork environment. Work with limited supervision.
• Promote and support a strong safe work environment.
• Must be willing to fill in on off shift and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Pulling and sorting of all lumber production on Green Chain, Sort Chain or Clear Chain.
• Make sure all lumber is pulled into its designated load; According to size, length, and grade. All units need stacked to the correct height and width.
• Make sure stickers are properly located.
• Make sure the resaw and trim is properly stacked into stable units. Trim unit will need to be banded.
• Work with other pullers as a team to ensure a safe and efficient production flow.
• Help ensure that all employees maintain a safe working environment and safe working habits.
• Know and utilize all lock-out/tag-out procedures associated with your job duties.
• When time allows, carry stickers, straighten loads, band units for forklift and clean up.
• Report any potential machinery defects immediately.
• Report any potential safety risks immediately.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Downtime is clean-up and minor maintenance time.
