Job summary

Coushatta Forest Products is seeking a Boiler Operator to manage startup, operation, and maintenance of industrial boilers in a 24/7 sawmill setting. You will monitor performance, perform water treatment, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, reliability, and a proactive safety mindset, with onsite in Coushatta, LA. Training and safety protocols are emphasized in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in boiler operations or mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Strong problem solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Familiarity with safety practices and use of power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform boiler startup and shutdown procedures for sawmill operations.
• Operate boiler safely to support production and cost goals.
• Adjust controls to maintain temperatures and airflow per specifications.
• Maintain accurate logs of boiler operation and maintenance.
• Monitor gauges and controls; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Review safety protocols and maintain clean work area.
• Follow OSHA regulations and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
