Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries' Eugene division in Oregon is seeking a qualified Sawfiler for our sawmill. This position involves maintaining and sharpening cutting tools to keep production running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include tip and grind carbide and stellite, bench band and round saws, and identifying defects to ensure optimal performance. Overtime and weekend shifts may occur during busy production periods.

Qualifications

• 2 years of verifiable saw filing experience.
• Understanding of sawmill manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently.
• Must be 18 years or older.

About the Position

• Tip and grind both carbide and stellite
• Bench band and round saws
• Recognize and repair defects in saws
• Work with a team focused on developing cutting-edge products
• Work can be fast-paced and, at times, demanding, with occasional heavy lifting
• Work may consist of various shifts, with some overtime and weekend work during busy production times

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
