Job summary

OMG Inc. in Agawam, MA is seeking a Saw and Planer Operator to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. You will set up and operate wood saws and planers, read job orders, adjust controls, and ensure parts meet specifications while maintaining clean, safe work areas.

We value reliability, teamwork, and safe operation. Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1–3 years woodworking experience, and the ability to read blueprints and use micrometers and rulers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3 years of woodworking experience preferred.
• Ability to read job orders, calibrations, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Promotes Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG employees.
• Set up the Saws and Planers, observe operation, and inspect work products to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
• Read job orders for product and job specifications such as calibrations, dimensions, tolerances, parts to be run, or special manufacturing instructions.
• Select and adjust the controls for the Saw Cutting and Planer Equipment as well as the cutting tools, to meet the specifications as they specify on the production run sheet, including speeds and feed rates.
• Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance inspections as required.
• Observe all safety rules.
• Assist other Saw and Planer Operators to set up the machines and prepare and ready the finished boards for the Punch Presses which stamp out the Cortex plugs.
• Maintain a neat and well-organized work area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
