Job summary

OMG Inc. is seeking a Saw and Planer Operator for the Cortex line on the 2nd shift in western Massachusetts. You will set up and operate saws and planers to produce parts according to Kanban and job sheets, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years woodworking experience, ability to read job orders, use micrometers and rulers, and a strong safety mindset with good teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of woodworking experience, including operation of wood saws and planers.
• Ability to interpret safety instructions, job orders, and quality specifications.

Responsibilities

• Promotes Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG employees.
• Set up the Saws and Planers, observe operation, and inspect work products to ensure conformity to specifications.
• Read job orders for product and job specifications such as calibrations, dimensions, tolerances, parts to be run, or special manufacturing instructions.
• Select and adjust the controls for the Saw Cutting and Planer Equipment and tools to meet production specs.
• Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance inspections and observe all safety rules.
