Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Saw Operator I to join our manufacturing team in Kentucky. You will be responsible for the setup and operation of a single-blade saw, reading production sheets to identify required material and ensuring quality specifications are met.

Responsibilities include running setups, feeding materials, inspecting equipment, maintaining records, and following safety procedures. Prior experience with saws and basic math is preferred. This is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment; some manufacturing/assembling experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Ensures material meets quality specifications (grade, size, moisture content, etc.).
• Performs setups according to specifications.
• Feeds material according to specifications.
• Periodically checks equipment to ensure specifications are met.
• Offloads and stacks material and may label/band components finished product as required.
• Keeps work area safe, clean, and organized; machines safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports issues.
• Maintains production records and checks materials and finished products for standards compliance.
• Performs safety and quality procedures, and LOTO as required.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
