Job summary

UFP Industries in Blanchester, OH seeks a Saw Operator I to setup and operate a single-blade saw. You will read production scheduling sheets to identify required material and feed it through the line.

Responsibilities include ensuring material meets quality specifications, performing setups, maintaining a safe work area, completing pre-shift inspections, and keeping production records. LOTO and preventive maintenance may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
• Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment; manufacturing/assembling experience is preferred.
• Basic math skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Periodically checks equipment to ensure specifications are met.
• Offloads and stacks material per established procedures; may label and band components or finished product.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area; ensures equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products for compliance with standards.
• Performs duties per safety and quality procedures; adheres to rules and standards.
• Performs LOTO as required.
• Performs preventive maintenance as specified.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Performs setups according to specifications.
• Feeds material according to specifications.
• Periodically checks equipment to ensure specifications are being met.
• Offloads and stacks material in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift-startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
