Job summary

Ideal Tridon is seeking a Saw Operator for 1st shift at the Smyrna, TN plant. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with an hourly pay rate of $19.00.

You will cut raw materials (strut) safely and accurately according to production specifications. Responsibilities include operating band saws, reading schedules and blueprints, setting up equipment, inspecting materials, performing maintenance, and ensuring quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience operating a band saw or similar cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and measurements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing safety standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate band saw equipment to cut materials to specified lengths, angles, and tolerances.
• Read and interpret production schedules, blueprints, and measurement tools.
• Set up and adjust saw settings, including blade type, feed rate, and cutting speed.
• Inspect materials for defects or inconsistencies before and after cutting.
• Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment such as blade changes, lubrication, cleaning, and alignment checks.
• Monitor machine performance and report unusual sounds, vibrations, or issues.
• Ensure quality by measuring and verifying finished cuts with precision tools.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and follow 5S practices.
• Record production data such as material usage, output, and downtime.
• Assist in other fabrication or production tasks as needed.

• 1st 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday

Hourly Pay Rate: $19.00

Job Summary:

• Operate band saw equipment to cut materials to specified lengths, angles, and tolerances.
• Read and interpret production schedules, blueprints, and measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers).
• Set up and adjust saw settings, including blade type, feed rate, and cutting speed.
• Inspect materials for defects or inconsistencies before and after cutting.
• Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment such as blade changes, lubrication, cleaning, and alignment checks.
• Monitor machine performance and immediately report unusual sounds, vibrations, or mechanical issues.
• Ensure quality standards by measuring and verifying finished cuts using precision tools.
• Maintain clean and organized work area, removing scrap, disposing of waste, and following 5S practices.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and machine guarding practices.
• Record production data such as material usage, output, and downtime.
• Assist in other fabrication or production tasks as needed.

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience operating a band saw or similar cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and measurements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing safety standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Experience working with metal fabrication, machining, or material handling.
• Forklift or material handling equipment certification.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of related machine operation experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
• May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
