Job summary

UFP Industries in Blanchester, Ohio is seeking a Saw Operator I responsible for setting up and operating a single-blade saw, reading production scheduling sheets, and identifying required material for the operation. You will perform setups, feed material, maintain equipment, keep records, and follow safety and quality procedures.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with 3 months of saw experience and basic math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math.

Responsibilities

• Ensures material meets quality specifications (grade, size, moisture, etc.).
• Performs setups according to specifications.
• Feeds material according to specifications.
• Periodically checks equipment for specifications.
• Offloads and stacks material; may label and band components.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area; ensures equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports issues.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products for standards compliance.
• Performs duties per safety and quality procedures; performs LOTO as required.
• Performs preventive maintenance as specified.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Ensures material meets quality specifications grade, size, moisture content, etc.
• Performs setups according to specifications.
• Feeds material according to specifications.
• Periodically checks equipment to ensure specifications are being met.
• Offloads and stacks material in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift-startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Performs LOTO as required.
• Performs preventive maintenance as specified.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
