Responsibilities

• Setup and operate industrial bandsaws, platesaws, and cutting equipment to process metals.
• Load and unload heavy metal plates, bars, and extrusions using cranes, forklifts, and hoists with safety guidelines.
• Optimize cutting sequences to maximize material yield and reduce scrap.
• Read and interpret shop orders, engineering drawings, and blueprints for precise cuts.
• Perform quality checks with calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges to meet aerospace tolerances.

We hiring for premier industrial metals supplier looking for reliable, detail-oriented Saw Operators / Machine Operators to join our growing manufacturing team in Wichita. salary: $33,280 - $45,760 per year

shift: Third

work hours: 10 PM - 6:30 AM

Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Production

• Setup and Operation: Set up, calibrate, and safely operate industrial bandsaws, platesaws, and specialized cutting equipment to process aluminum, steel, and other metallic alloys.
• Material Handling: Load and unload heavy metal plates, bars, and extrusions using overhead cranes, forklifts, and material hoists in accordance with strict warehouse safety guidelines.
• Efficiency: Optimize cutting sequences and nesting patterns to maximize material yield and minimize scrap metal waste.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read, analyze, and interpret shop orders, engineering drawings, and blueprints to determine precise cutting specifications and tolerances.
• Precision Measurement: Perform continuous quality checks using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges to ensure all finished cuts meet strict aerospace tolerances.

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes

• working up to 10 hrs of overtime per week
