Job summary

Randstad USA in Wichita, KS is seeking reliable Saw Operators / Machine Operators to join a growing manufacturing team. You will operate cutting equipment to process aluminum, steel and other metals in a safety-forward environment.

Applicants should have a High School diploma and 2 years of experience with a focus on precision; overtime up to 10 hours per week is possible on the second shift (2 PM - 10:30 PM).

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience or more in manufacturing or metalworking
• Experience reading blueprints and shop orders
• Ability to operate saws and precision measurement tools

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation & Production
• Set up, calibrate, and safely operate industrial bandsaws, platesaws and cutting equipment
• Load and unload heavy metal plates, bars, and extrusions with cranes or forklifts
• Optimize cutting sequences to maximize yield and minimize scrap
• Read and interpret shop orders, drawings, and tolerances
• Perform quality checks with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to meet aerospace tolerances

We hiring for premier industrial metals supplier looking for reliable, detail-oriented Saw Operators / Machine Operators to join our growing manufacturing team in Wichita. salary: $33,280 - $45,760 per year
shift: Second
work hours: 2 PM - 10:30 PM

Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Production

• Setup and Operation:Set up, calibrate, and safely operate industrial bandsaws, platesaws, and specialized cutting equipment to process aluminum, steel, and other metallic alloys.


• Material Handling:Load and unload heavy metal plates, bars, and extrusions using overhead cranes, forklifts, and material hoists in accordance with strict warehouse safety guidelines.


• Efficiency:Optimize cutting sequences and nesting patterns to maximize material yield and minimize scrap metal waste.


• Blueprint Interpretation:Read, analyze, and interpret shop orders, engineering drawings, and blueprints to determine precise cutting specifications and tolerances.


• Precision Measurement:Perform continuous quality checks using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges to ensure all finished cuts meet strict aerospace tolerances.

The essential functions of this role include:
