Job summary

Mycustomstaffing seeks a detail-oriented Saw Operator in Springfield, Ohio, to set up and operate a Hyd-Mech saw, cut parts to spec, and maintain strict quality standards. You will interpret technical prints and work with fixtures to ensure accuracy.

Training will begin on the first shift before moving to the permanent second shift. You will also safely operate a forklift and overhead crane, perform pre-production prep with grinders, and document production steps in our production systems.

Location: Springfield, Ohio

Shift: 2nd Shift (Will train on 1st Shift before moving to 2nd Shift)

Pay Rate: $16.00 / hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Saw Operator to join our fabrication team in Springfield, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a Hyd-Mech saw machine to cut parts efficiently while maintaining strict quality standards. This position requires strong material handling skills, precision measurement capabilities, and the ability to interpret technical prints. Training will be provided on the 1st shift before transitioning to the permanent 2nd-shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Saw Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate the Hyd-Mech saw machine to cut raw materials safely and productively.
• Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift and overhead crane to move, load, and unload heavy parts and raw stock.
• Quality Control: Use calipers, levels, angle finders, and tape measures to verify part dimensions; identify if parts are cut to length, out of square, out of level, or twisted and require a recut.
• Pre-Production Prep: Utilize industrial grinders to deburr and prepare parts prior to or following the cutting process.
• Blueprint Reading & Diagnostics: Read and interpret technical blueprints; evaluate production documents to ensure the work order, print, and road map match, and elevate any discrepancies directly to the supervisor.
• Computer & Administrative Tasks: Utilize standard computer skills for work order scanning and data entry into production spreadsheets.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Technical Skills: Basic mathematical knowledge and proven proficiency using precision measurement layout tools.
• Equipment Experience: Prior experience or strong aptitude to operate saw machinery, forklifts, overhead cranes, and grinders.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to spot quality defects and document production steps accurately.
