Job summary

Komline is seeking a Saw Operator to set up and operate metal-sawing machines, cut metal stock to dimensions, and read job orders. You will adjust blades, monitor cutting parameters, and ensure accuracy while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role requires reading blueprints and shop routings, standing for long periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs. This is a first-shift, on-site position with dedicated production responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and six months in manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read shop routings, blueprints and standard tape measure to 1/32nd of an inch.
• Fork Lift Operator Certification required.
• Continually stand and walk; frequently push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs; occasional bending.

Responsibilities

• Reads order for specifications, material and dimensions to be cut.
• Transfers stock to machine and positions materials for cutting.
• Sets saw blade tension and cutting speed as specified.
• Inspects and measures parts to maintain quality control.
• Keeps the work area safe, clean, and orderly; records attendance and production data.

Komline is looking for a Saw Operator to join our growing team. The Saw Operator sets up and operates metal-sawing machines, such as hacksaw, and cutoff saw to cut metal stock to dimensions. This person will read job orders, adjust blades and cutting parameters, position materials, and monitor machine operation to ensure accuracy and quality.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Reads to order for specifications, such as material, type, and size of stock, and dimensions to be cut
• Obtains and transfers stock to machine, manually or with hoist
• Installs or adjusts saw blade and sets blade tension and cutting speed for specified operation
• Sets saw blade angle to obtain desired angle cuts, using wrench
• Sets stops and guides to control dimension of cut, using steel rule and wrenches
• Positions and secures stock against stops or in feeding device
• Turns valve to start flow of coolant against cutting area
• Starts machine and observes operationMeasures work for conformance to specifications, using rule
• Marks identifying data on workpiece
• Replaces defective cutting blade or wheel, using handtools
• Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities
• Inspects and measures parts to maintain quality control
• Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Record daily attendance and production information on timekeeping system
• Follow all Barnes company policies and procedures diligently and effectively Job
• Other duties as assigned
