Job summary

Jobtailor in Phoenix is hiring for a Billet Saw Operator to support daily production schedules and ensure billet handling with precision. You will operate billet saws and banding equipment, perform basic machine adjustments, and ensure accurate production records.

The role requires safe operation in a heavy industrial environment, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, extend standing, and flexibility for overtime or rotating shifts. A High School diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must read, understand, and follow written work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation.
  • Able to safely work in a manufacturing environment while following safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment adjustments and issue identification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, and safely shut down billet saws and banding equipment to meet daily production schedules
  • Stamp, tag, and identify billets to maintain material traceability and inventory accuracy
  • Move materials throughout the facility using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment
  • Monitor equipment performance, change saw blades as needed, and report maintenance issues promptly
  • Complete production documentation and operational records accurately and on time
  • Follow established safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and support housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives

Job description

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work overtime or rotating shifts as needed
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial experience (preferred)
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment (preferred)
  • Experience working in a heavy industrial, metals, casting, or extrusion environment (preferred)
