Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Saw Operator to safely operate saws and cutting equipment for plastic materials. You will set up, measure, mark, and cut to exact specifications, ensuring quality and minimizing waste. The role requires strong attention to detail, safe work practices, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Starting pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. This onsite position follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with opportunities to contribute to production efficiency and

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous saw operation, machining, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, measurements, and production instructions.
• Strong math skills with fractions and decimals and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely set up and operate saws and cutting equipment according to work orders and specifications.
• Measure, mark, and cut materials to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Verify materials and measurements before cutting to reduce errors and waste.
• Inspect finished materials for accuracy, quality, and defects using measuring tools.
• Identify, label, stack, and move completed materials.
• Monitor equipment and report maintenance, safety, or quality concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow PPE guidelines.
• Complete production paperwork and meet quality, productivity, and efficiency targets.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to maintain production flow.
• Take on additional duties as required by Management.

Position Overview

The Saw Operator is responsible for safely and accurately operating saws and other cutting equipment to cut plastic materials according to work orders, specifications, and customer requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, consistent quality, safe work practices, and the ability to maintain an efficient production pace.

Schedule & Pay

• Full-time, onsite position
• Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–2:30 PM
• Starting pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely set up and operate saws and cutting equipment according to work orders and specifications.
• Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Verify materials and measurements before cutting to reduce errors, scrap, and waste.
• Inspect finished materials for accuracy, quality, and defects using appropriate measuring tools.
• Properly identify, label, stack, and move completed materials.
• Monitor equipment and promptly report maintenance, safety, material, or quality concerns.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and machine operating guidelines.
• Complete required production paperwork and meet established quality, productivity, and efficiency expectations.
• Work cooperatively with team members and other departments to maintain production flow.
• Perform other duties and assignments as requested by Management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous saw operation, machine operation, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, measurements, and production instructions and accurately use measuring tools.
• Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to learn additional equipment and job functions as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, twist, stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and position materials.
• Ability to safely handle materials of various sizes and weights and work around operating machinery while wearing required PPE.
• Must be willing to job shift and work overtime, including coming in early or staying beyond the scheduled shift, as production needs require.
