Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated in Hartsville, SC, is looking for a skilled saw operator to set up and operate our saw to cut parts according to specifications. You will start the machine, adjust speeds and feeds, change blades, and verify sizes with calipers and micrometers.

The role requires following the process control plan, performing daily equipment inspections, and recording production data. You will use cranes, clamps, and gauges, maintain safety, and cooperate with the supervisor to meet

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and interpret measurements with calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience operating a saw and performing blade changes is preferred.

Job description

Summary

Set up and operate saw to cut parts by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Start up machine and understand machine control panel
  • Make size adjustments
  • Change blade and blade brush position
  • Change blade speed and feed
  • Set clamps and guides
  • Stop machine
  • Use calipers and micrometers
  • Use overhead crane
  • Verify proper steel size per order before cutting
  • Measure workpieces for proper length and squareness
  • Understand and documents Process Control Plan
  • Perform daily inspections on equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance per instructions for machine
  • Record required information, either in written or electronic form, pertinent to production, quality, and time records.
  • Perform any other job-related duties per direction of supervisor or lead person.
  • Follow all safety and housekeeping rules, policies, and procedures.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
