Job description

Purpose

Safely and efficiently coordinate and directly perform all warehouse functions, especially as they relate to operating shop equipment (cold saws, band saw, lathe, deburring machine, etc.).

Reports to

Operations Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cut material to job-specific criteria using fabrication equipment.
• Deburr parts to job-specific criteria using fabrication equipment.
• Operate safely at all times and report any safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain equipment and the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Training

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strongly prefer high school or technical shop class experience.

Experience

• Minimum of one year in a shop or fabrication environment.
• Able to set up and operate various cutting machines (cold saw, band saw, lathe) and deburring equipment.
• Experience with blueprint reading and use of measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, tape measure).

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong safety orientation.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift, crane, micrometer, and calipers.
• Ability to visually and manually inspect materials per company standards.
• Must be able to regularly lift 35 lbs unassisted and heavier items with assistance.
• Capable of physical activities such as reaching overhead, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Able to follow and give verbal instructions, especially regarding safety.
• Operate machinery using both hands and feet.
• Willingness to improve job-related knowledge and skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Basic proficiency with office equipment (e.g., phone, copier, computer).
