Job summary

Rutland Lumber Company in Collins, MS is seeking a full-time Saw Filer to join our milling team. The successful candidate will prepare saws for level, tension, sharpness and specifications, and ensure guides are maintained to proper tolerances.

Responsibilities include preparing saw teeth, replacing damaged teeth, troubleshooting operating issues, keeping the work area clean, and assisting in other mill areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Saw Filer experience preferred.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Basic understanding of planned/preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare saws for level, tension, sharpness and specifications.
• Ensure guides are maintained at proper tolerances.
• Prepare saw teeth and replace broken teeth.
• Keep general area clean and free of debris.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operating difficulties.
• Assist in other areas of the mill when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
