Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East in Withee, WI is seeking a reliable Saw Assistant to join our client’s team.

You will cut extrusions to length, verify dimensions against engineering prints, record counts, label materials, and serve as back-up to the saw operator after training.

Shifts run Mon–Thu, 5am–3pm for 1st shift and 3pm–1am for 2nd shift, with OT Fridays; pay is $17.00/hr on 1st shift and $18.70/hr on 2nd; benefits available.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform basic arithmetic.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Must wear PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, gloves.

Responsibilities

• Cut extrusions to required length and stack on aging carts.
• Record counts and ensure material is identified and dimensionally correct before tempering.
• Verify extrusion dimensions against engineering prints.
• Promote a culture of proactive safety.
• Serve as back-up operator to the saw operator after proper training.

We are looking for a reliable Saw Assistant to join our client’s team!

Job Duties:

• Cut extrusions to their required length according to customer requirements and properly stack them onto age carts.
• Record accurate counts of material cut an see that all material is properly identified and dimensionally correct before it is transferred to the tempering dept.
• Verify extrusion dimensions from engineering prints.
• Strives towards a culture of proactive safety.
• Act as a back-up operator to the saw operator once properly trained.

Requirements:

• Must be able to continuously lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
• Working knowledge of how to use a tape measure.
• Able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to work in hot environment.
• Ability to perform all duties as outlined in the Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Must wear the following PPE: Safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes/boots and gloves.

Schedule:

• Monday-Thursday 5am -3pm 1st shift 3pm - 1am 2nd shift
• Friday - OT as needed

Payrate:

• $17.00/hr 1st $18.70/hr 2nd
