Zingerman's Bakehouse in Michigan is seeking a Savory Cook to help prepare scratch soups, salads, sandwiches, components, and more for our local retail shop. You’ll join a team that values creativity and collaboration, making foods that customers love.

No experience is required—we’ll train you. This role offers 40 hours per week, early shifts (5am-2pm), weekends and holidays, and opportunities to learn Zingerman’s renowned methods while enjoying bread and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• No formal cooking experience required.
• Willingness to learn and train.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Slice, dice, stir and fry ingredients.
• Make grilled cheese sandwiches for regulars.
• Prepare, weigh and measure spices for soups, dressings and components.
• Pipe, fry and glaze pastries and crullers.
• Assemble, package and label grab-and-go sandwiches and salads.
• Process and prep raw meats and produce.
