Job summary

Sauer Brands, Inc. is seeking a Product Development Scientist for sauces and condiments at its Mauldin, SC location.

You will drive innovation, renovation, and maintenance of product lines, prioritizing technical projects and commercialization while ensuring quality objectives and business continuity. You will lead cross-functional teams, design and analyze tests, and translate results for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of five years of product development and commercialization experience; foodservice/condiments experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and packaging interactions.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and project management skills.
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support condiment and sauce projects from concept to commercialization with cross-functional teams.
• Perform bench and factory trials and translate results for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Manage multiple development projects to meet R&D timelines.
• Adapt scientific principles to new products and maintain autonomy.
• Create and update product documentation and specifications.
