Job summary

Elveo in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Wireless Engineer to design and implement feeder link modems for spacecraft and ground systems, focusing on DSP and satellite protocol development.

You will work with RF, electronics and hardware teams, validate on lab equipment, develop test automation, and contribute to SDR platform production code. A Master’s in EE or related field and hands-on signal processing are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required or strongly preferred.
• Strong foundation in communication theory and signal processing algorithms.
• Experience with DVB-S2/DVB-S2X and TCP/IP/UDP/Ethernet is a plus.
• Proficiency with C/C++, Python, MATLAB for algorithms development and simulation.
• Experience with software defined radios (SDRs) and Linux-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Design DSP algorithms and wireless protocols in PHY and MAC layers.
• Deliver production code for SDR platforms using SBCs and/or FPGAs.
• Evaluate algorithm performance with MATLAB/Python simulations.
• Validate performance on target hardware using RF lab equipment.
• Develop test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for modems.
• Collaborate with RF, electronics, and hardware teams to integrate systems.
• Debug production issues in orbit or ground operations.
• Create system performance visualizations for link monitoring.
• Perform link budget analysis and evaluate spacecraft radios and ground products.
