Job summary

Cornerstone Defense is seeking a Software Engineer in State College, PA to design, develop, and maintain advanced software for satellite ground systems. You will work with Java, C++, and Python in a Linux/UNIX environment and contribute to high-performance, scalable software architectures.

The role requires a Top Secret security clearance (TS/SCI preferred) and hands-on experience in Agile/DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, and SonarQube.

Qualifications

• Five years of recent experience in object oriented software design and development using Java and C++ in a Linux/UNIX environment.
• Experience with unit testing tools (e.g., JUnit) and Python.
• Experience developing software in an Agile/DevOps environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for satellite ground systems.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and other software engineers to deliver reliable, high performance software solutions.
• Design, implement, and test Java, C++ and Python components for satellite ground systems.
• Work with legacy teams to migrate workloads onto pipelines and improve scalability.
• Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities.
