Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking a Junior Satellite Operations Specialist to join our space and satellite operations team at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. The role involves real-time satellite contacts, configuring ground equipment, and supporting mission planning, execution, and evaluation across launch, on-orbit, and end-of-life phases.

Qualifications include an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility, 1–5 years in satellite operations or related military fields, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 1–5 years’ satellite operations experience (or related military ops) preferred.
• Ability to follow procedures, checklists and contingency plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts including holidays and weekends.
• Experience operating multiple satellite families (LEO/HEO/GEO) is desired.
• Bachelor’s Degree is desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform real-time satellite contacts and configure ground equipment.
• Support mission planning, preparation, execution and evaluation of satellite operations.
• Conduct scheduling, data trending, and anomaly resolution.
• Help develop and maintain mission docs, procedures, and test plans.
• Assist in conflict resolution for space vehicle operations and telemetry data acquisition.
• Participate in anomaly response plans and recovery actions.
