Job summary

Blue Sky Innovators, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer to support ground software for a satellite program.

The role collaborates with engineers, program managers, and government stakeholders to design, develop, test, and maintain mission-critical software for space operations. The position requires active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly, a Bachelor’s in a related field, and at least 5 years of flight software experience.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting flight software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain ground software components in Python supporting satellite mission operations
• Collaborate with systems engineers, program managers, and government customers to translate mission requirements into software solutions
• Support the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, integration, test, and deployment
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and verification/validation activities to ensure flight software reliability and mission assurance
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and anomalies identified during development, integration, and on-orbit operations
• Support technical documentation, including design documents, test plans, and software interface specifications
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support satellite program milestones, reviews, and delivery schedules
• Adhere to applicable software development standards and mission assurance practices for space systems
