Job summary

SAIC seeks a Satellite Systems Software Engineer in Chantilly, VA to advance space capabilities for DoD and IC customers. You will lead embedded software development for a large space program, working with multi-Agency teams across the system life cycle.

Requires 4+ years in embedded software, strong problem-solving, and polished communication. Expect collaboration with government and contractor teams; role may involve minimal supervision in a high-pace environment. Target salary range included.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree + 5 years relevant experience OR Master's + 3 years relevant experience.
• 4+ years designing and developing software for real-time or non-real-time systems.
• Expert in embedded software system architecture, design, integration and test.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics and utility of different orbits.
• Ability to define solutions for broad, abstract topics; provide analysis and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Government’s mission through system engineering activities.
• Analyze designs and software for embedded devices and systems to meet standards.
• Translate customer requirements into software designs for embedded systems.
• Monitor and improve efficiency and stability of embedded software.
• Witness tests for embedded devices and systems.
• Recommend current and emerging technologies and tools.
• Advise on software/hardware integration domains.
• Provide engineering support to satellite operations during anomalies.
• Coordinate with Government, Developers, and SETA program managers to resolve issues.
• Work effectively with minimal supervision.
