Job summary

QualiTech in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a SAT & SUN Line Packer to efficiently package products to customer specs, move between post-bake line locations, and assist with seal-out duties as needed. This hands-on role requires adherence to GMPs, food safety programs, and the ability to read work instructions and data entries.

The schedule features Saturday and Sunday shifts, with defined day and night hours.

Qualifications

• Must understand and follow direction and pass all Food Safety courses in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with decimals.
• Ability to read computer screens and enter data accurately.
• Read and follow work instructions precisely.

Responsibilities

• Attend and be on time for all pre-shift production meetings.
• Adhere to GMPs and food safety programs.
• Complete required Alchemy courses throughout the year.
• Package product in correct packaging and ensure packaging info is correct.
• Assist with changing over equipment when product changes.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report issues to leadership.
• Monitor equipment and report malfunctions to leadership.
• Communicate information to other shifts and employees.
• Train new team members as assigned.
• Prepare and clean area for the next shift.

Job description

The SAT & SUN Line Packer is responsible for the packaging of product into the various types of containers to be distributed to our customers that is not only safe to eat but meets all customer and internal specifications. The incumbent should understand how all production line packing processes operate and is able to move to all locations on the post bake side and be effective and productive in the Line Packer function. The incumbent may be assigned to seal‑out duties on the line.

Job Responsibilities

• Attend and be on time for all pre-shift production meetings
• Participation and adherence to all food safety and safety programs
• Completion of assigned Alchemy courses that are required throughout the year
• Ensure that all product is packaged in the correct packaging
• Ensure that all packaging information is correct
• Assist with changing over equipment when changing product
• Ensure that all utensils, equipment, and work area is maintained in a clean and safe manner
• Monitor automated equipment to verify it is functioning properly and if there is an issue, and report any issues to your leader
• Effectively communicate all relevant information to other production shifts and employees
• Immediately report any and all food safety and quality problems to Management
• Welcome all new team members and train as assigned
• Assist other areas of production as needed or directed by leadership
• Ensure area is prepared and cleaned for the next shift
