Job summary

S. Clyde Weaver is seeking a part-time Farmers Market Associate for our market stand at Central Market in downtown Lancaster. The role is Saturdays only, 7 AM–3 PM, with perks including free lunch, employee discounts, and free parking in the parking garage.

Greet customers, stock displays, prepare products, assist with setup/teardown, and maintain clean, organized stands. Training provided; reliability and the ability to stand for the shift and lift 30 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, math and computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive and friendly attitude.
• Reliable and punctual; ability to stand for the shift and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in an engaging and professional manner.
• Stocking/building case displays and product preparation.
• Help with market stand set up and tear down.
• Cleaning and sanitizing market cases.
• Maintain current knowledge of all available products.
• Differentiate between products and help customers compare flavors, textures, and pairings.

• Handle all transactions with accuracy.
• Train/operate food service equipment (slicer, chipper, etc.).
• Additional sanitation and market support as needed.

• Make helpful suggestions that will be useful to the customer
• Handle all transactions with accuracy
• Make every effort to ensure the customer has an excellent shopping experience
• Train/operate food service equipment (slicer, chipper, etc.)
• Additional sanitation and market support as needed
