ESM Prep, a Guidewell Education brand, is seeking energetic tutors in Los Angeles to support students for SAT/ACT and AP exams, both in person and remotely. Tutors will mentor students through high school academics, with sessions at the Brentwood office or at students' homes, and occasional remote opportunities.

This part-time role offers a flexible schedule, weekly evenings and weekends, and potential for full-time advancement based on performance, subject range, and experience.

Job Description

ESM Prep is seeking energetic, engaging, and kind tutors in Los Angeles who can support their students holistically as mentors. The tutors in this position will assist students one-on-one in preparing for college by readying them for the SAT/ACT as well as AP exams and mentoring themthrough their overall high school academic journey.

We call our tutorsMentors because we prioritize the holistic development of each of our students. All applicants should be passionate about working with youth and should have previous experience tutoring, teaching, and/or coaching.

Job Requirements

• Prior experience teaching or tutoring ACT/SAT.
• Prior experience tutoring or teaching AP-level subjects is a big plus!
• Must be able to tutor in person 2 to 3 days a week, primarily on the Westside (Brentwood and surrounding areas), holding sessions at our San Vicente Blvd office and in students' homes. You will also have the opportunity to work remotely.
• Additional expertise in high school subjects such ascalculus,physics, history, English, Spanish, computer science, economics, SSAT, and/or ISEE is a plus!
• Available part-time. Tutoring usually occurs on weekday evenings (after 3 pm) and/or on weekends. Typical work schedule is Sunday-Thursday.
• Available to tutor for a full school year or longer.
• Reliable internet access.
• Reliable transportation.
• Wage: $70-$80/hr for in-person sessions ($60-$70/hr for remote sessions, with a +$10/hr differential for in-person work)
• IRS-standard mileage reimbursement for travel to students' homes
• Additional compensation for training and administrative functions
